It’s T-minus 20 days to the application deadline and Anchorage needs to get fired up (or maybe lit up) about the Google Fiber Initiative! If you’re not familiar with this “contest”, let me explain. The latest app to hit the streets is from KTUU Channel 2 here in Anchorage, Alaska. They announced the app on their news broadcast earlier this week and I went to check it out.

A little birdy told me that 3G should be coming to Anchorage in August 2008. Doing a little reading between the lines and based on some subtle hints, my estimation is that Anchorage and perhaps several other areas around Alaska will have 3G by August 11, 2008. (more…)

MacHaus is currently celebrating their “Grand Opening” event for their new store recently opened in Anchorage, Alaska.  MacHaus is a locally owned and operated Apple sales and authorized service center with three locations around the State.  I recently met with the owner, Ben Schaafsma to get the scoop on MacHaus and learn a little more about what they’re all about.
